As much fun as I had with this film, and many others will have with it for years to come, Citizen Toxie is definitely an acquired taste.
It's sick. It's stupid. But it also is undeniably adept at skewering social hypocrisy, lancing the boils of political self-righteousness, and poking fun where others fear to tread.
Any buyer who's had success with Troma fare in the past will find the makings to delight the self-selecting audience that generates grosses from gross-out humor.
Nauseating, tasteless and offensive -- but in all the best ways.
The movie's relentless comic excess is ultimately a little exhausting. But the longer the series endures, the more likely it is to achieve classic cult status.
Puerile, gross and pandering to the lowest impulses of teenage boys.
Laughs are few and far between, and the film feels brutally long.
