This utterly beguiling foray into family comedy from Hong Kong director Stephen Chow (Kung Fu Hustle, Shaolin Soccer) may be the tribute to Spielberg's "E.T. Extra-Terrestrial" the gleefully childlike filmmaker has had up his sleeve forever.
A devilishly entertaining curveball thrown at unsuspecting family audiences.

CJ7 is a charming movie. I think this movie is more aim to children in general. Still there is a certain amount of silly Chow's humour, but not to the level of Hustle or Mermaid. The story touches many themes but better describe as a Scifi light comedy. The FX are quite acceptable, but nothing amazing. Young actors are a mix bag, not always good and the movie rely heavily on them. You have a lot of illogical things going on and it did badder me at times. I give it a 65% because it's the kind of movie that put a smile on your face, and doesn't pretend doing more then that.

Bright, bouncy, kooky and comically tone deaf, CJ7 is the most bizarre kids movie I've ever seen.
Heavy on slapstick and may appeal to very young viewers who won't need to bother much with the subtitles.
"E.T."-inspired comic fantasy about a poor boy adopting a cute alien catches the eye but not fully the heart with its undernourished father-son dynamics, critter hijinks and smattering of social commentary.
Trivial and charmless.
You leave this movie feeling mugged.
Ok, the movie is good, have some good effects, but no is the better japan movie, some moments are boring and stupid, the characters are regular, the story is good, but this movie is really strange for me.

The family film Made in China, was acceptable , good for the script, funny and dramatic at the same time , but think it is the ET Chinese, are wrong , because it 's been a bit boring , but do not discount the imagination of a child , as they had not even Steven Spielberg. but that's what they say.

Cj7 is visually cute but that can't really beat the many problems it has. It truly gets burdened from bad acting, weird effects, cursing, and too many plotholes. There is also too much violence in this film. I have to say, I'm not happy with this film which means I dislike it.
