  • Summary: A "Film A Clef" Comedy/Thriller based on Azita Zendel's Four Years as Oliver Stone's Assistant, about the harried Assistant to a famous Director forced to cover up her boss' frequent scandals. (Azita Zendel)

  1. 40
The bad news is that, though professionally produced on a micro-budget, Azita Zendel's ambitious writing-directing debut is undermined by an awkward script and some very amateurish acting.
  2. 40
As a movie, Controlled Chaos is often bumpy, naïve and erratically acted.
  3. Controlled Chaos unfortunately also reveals that Zendel's talents do not equal her ambitions.
  4. 20
The only real-life situations the movie evokes vividly are the circumstances of its own production: underrehearsed actors in hastily staged scenes speaking page after page of awkward expository dialogue.
  5. 0
Plays like a bad daytime soap opera. The acting is amateurish. Ditto the uninspired script (continuity? what's that?) and direction.
