    This movie was slow and only mildly fun. I think few people reviewed it and thus it has a high score. I would skip it!

    How could this possibly rank as the all-time 2nd best DVD, after The Godfather and tied with Dr. Strangelove?! It's slow, dull and unaffecting - but inexplicably, another critics' darling. Don't waste your time on this one.

    Had the movie been hatched in the U.S. it probably been brushed aside as a mood piece. Kar Wai Wong undeniably follows American influences from David Lynch to Peter Bogdonovich, but he stamps this film his own through a luscious western soundtrack that snaps together with images of swervy hips and perfectly lit big hair. No one films a bouffant like Christopher Doyle. And Quentin, we know where you got it from.… Expand

    This and 2046 speak very loudly to a certain group of people. If you haven't been there, I wouldn't expect you to understand. To those it have, it's powerful stuff.

    I was so hypnotized by its beauty the first time I saw it in the cinema that I paid to watch it again for the next 2 days. And for the next 17 years, I continued watching this movie again and again, first on VHS, then VCD and now DVD. And I never cease to be mesmerized by it.

    A must see "Wong Kar Wai" movie. Leslie Cheung and Carina Lau are simply marvelous in the movie.

    This is a wonderful, wonderful movie, from Wong Kar-Wai. I don't understand when someonehere says that doesn't understand all the hype, because there is no hype around this movie. It is an alternative foreign movie that people who usually like Kar-Wai style will love. Wong Kar-Wai is one of the most important filmakers alive. This is not his first movie, but it is where everything began.... A masterpiece. An imortal masterpiece.… Expand

    one of the best movies i have ever seen and he keeps getting better with each i m not sure how that is possible every second of thsis movie is dripped in dealing with time and mix of emotions.

    when i watched the film ,it makes me to feel that oh you are watching something special.its an unusual movie. iam deeply impressed by the director kar wai wong who made this inexplicable movie. the characters in the film make us emotionally attached to them ,even after we watched the film.....

    Can not tie unconnected stories into a central theme. "Birds without legs" imagery is forced. Narrative is Inconsistent (use of several inner voices, addressing the audience). Caricature eccentric mother, a girl starting with a dramatic effect but ending up as a meek character...
    Promises something but clearly over-valued.

    All those seriously interested in foreign cinema are encouraged to take a look at this atmospheric drama -- sure to be remembered as one of the key achievements of the Hong Kong cinema in the 1990s.

    Revived (with vastly improved subtitles) some 14 years after it first stunned Hong Kong critics, Days of Being Wild is a sort of meta-reverie populated by a cast of beautiful young pop icons.

    It's inexplicable that Wong's early masterpiece has been virtually absent from American screens since he completed it in 1991.
