  • Summary: Nathalie is a beautiful, happy and successful Parisian business executive who finds herself suddenly widowed after a three-year marriage to her soul mate. To cope with her loss, she buries herself and her emotions in her work to the dismay of her friends, family and co-workers. One day, inexplicably, her zest for life and love is rekindled by a most unlikely source, her seemingly unexceptional, gauche, and average looking office subordinate, Markus. At first stunned by Nathalie's unexpected attention, Markus comes to gradually believe in her feelings and shifts into romantic high gear. As their relationships goes from awkward to genuinely loving, Nathalie and Markus will have to overcome a host of obstacles including everyone else's judgmental perceptions as well as their own self-doubts. Tautou, who looks even smaller and more fragile alongside her towering leading man, conveys the hurt and hesitancy that are pulling at her character's heart - and does so with seeming effortlessness. It's as though she knows this woman, deep down.

The latest Audrey Tautou film, Delicacy, is sensitive and well acted and fits under the general category of "good movie," and yet it would be hard to get excited about it.

The movie is caught between the poignancy of the everyday and the exaggerations of fiction.

Delicacy is not a very good movie. But it is entertaining enough -- barely enough -- to make it worth seeing.

The two stars appear to be as bewildered by the turn of events as we are.

It's a lightweight romance that occasionally shows a sense of humor but seems afraid to turn it loose.

Now that Zooey Deschanel has taken a detour into TV land, is Audrey Tautou the most insufferable pixy presence in cinema today?

"La délicatesse" is a loving film with lots of charm and it is made for couples who want to see there after happy ending. Audrey Tautou is great but who stands out in the film is François Damiens. He is real star film. "La délicatesse" is like taking a relaxing cup of café con leche in Montmartre. Expand
