For a big-screen disposable, Doom has a few jolts, a few good laughs and an attractive female lead to whom you want to say, "What's a nice girl like you doing on a Mars like this?"
As dumb as they come, the entertaining Doom might warrant a place in cinema history as the first movie in which someone rips off their own ear.

Awesome cheesy horror flick ! Defo worth a watch for the laughs and the thrills !

The Rock's ungainly performance is somewhat alleviated by Karl Urban as a crew member and Rosamund Pike as his twin sister.
Basically a deadly dull rehash of "Resident Evil," which in turn was a third-generation clone of "Aliens."
Baffling too is The Rock's choice to follow up his acclaimed performance in "Be Cool" with a role that requires him to do little more than widen his eyes and grunt lines.
Even The Rock, who can usually be counted on to enliven any scenario, seems bored by the laughably feeble script.
This claustrophobic mess of a movie offers only carnage.
Sure it wasn't 100% faithful to the game, but DOOM is a damn fine movie. I loved every moment of it. One of my favourites parts about the film was Dwayne Johnson. He gave a wonderful performance as Sarge. He was very creepy, authoritative and menacing. This is one of the most underrated movies of all time. My real rating would be an 9, but I'm giving it a 10 in order to boost the incredibly low 6.3 it currently has.

DOOM is a typical film adaptation of the game. And as usual, it's unsuccessful. If you consider the film as a film adaptation of the game franchise, it clearly did not work out. This is a mediocre acquaintance with the franchise. And she will clearly disappoint game fans. But if we consider DOOM as an independent project and do not draw analogies with games, it is not a bad film. Yes, an ordinary linear action movie to watch once in the evening. Yes, the plot is not able to surprise. The cast is not bad. But from the first minutes of the film, it becomes clear how it will end. DOOM can be treated differently, but the sooner the viewer stops drawing analogies with the game franchise, the more pleasant it will be to watch.

Dans la série des jeux vidéo qui voulaient être des films et qui ont fini en daubes (une série qui n'est pas près de finir) voilà notre pathétique prétendant : Doom ! Le plus étonnant dans cette triste affaire, c'est qu'on pense à Resident Evil la plupart du temps, soit l'inverse de l'effet escompté je présume. Et un mauvais Resident Evil qui plus est : il ne fait pas peur, il ne fait pas rire, même au dixième degré. Et il n'y a aucun ralenti.
Bref, il n'a rien capturé de l'essence de Doom. Pour autant, le film n'est pas totalement mauvais, notamment le rôle de Dwayne Johnson qui fronce les sourcils avec les yeux en billes de Loto pendant tout le film. Ou Rosamund Spike qui fait pareil mais avec les sourcils arqués et qui pousse des cris hystériques sur commande. ça en deviendrait drôle, enfin presque (rire jaune).
Au moins, c'est filmé très correctement et on ne s'ennuie pas trop. Mais ces décors, on dirait un HLM désaffecté... un peu de sérieux que diable ! j'ai été surpris de voir le logo Universal au début : ils ont fait leurs rapiats et ça se voit. Dommage.
