  1. I think you can say that almost everyone watching this will be spellbound, whether they're stupefied by its insanity, more conventionally compelled by the various horrors in store or a combination of both.
  2. Most novels can't be encapsulated well enough in a conventional two-hour movie format, and Dreamcatcher may be one of them -- a miniseries gone wrong.
  3. Simultaneously jokey and scary, sentimental and ruthless, tediously everyday and grotesquely out of the ordinary.

A pretty good example of how the studios have taken over the junk that used to be left to the exploitation hacks. The hacks here have millions to work with and the end result isn't nearly as much fun as a cheap, gross horror movie can be.

How could director Lawrence Kasdan and writer William Goldman be responsible for a film that goes so awesomely wrong?

This horror-free horror flick sent me wandering through my own memory warehouse, where, at every turn, I bumped into images from similar -- and mostly superior -- entertainments.

So much is going on, and so many bizarre and seemingly random subplots collide in Dreamcatcher, that the film feels like some crazy patchwork quilt sewn by a schizophrenic seamstress. It’s not only confusing, but dull, as well.

In a world of predictable movies and remakes i think this one is definitely worth watching, its also full of good actors Expand

I wonder what people have in mind giving 10 to idea-free crap like The Gravity and 1 to Dreamcatcher. Well, that's how it is.

Dreamcatcher isn't necessarily a bad movie, but it isn't a good one. As it lagged through the middle of the movie, I found myself waiting, starring at my computer screen, waiting for the movie to pick up where it first started. Expand

The trailers for "Dreamcatcher" want you to believe that it's a psychological thriller combined with science fiction aliens. The movie The trailers for "Dreamcatcher" want you to believe that it's a psychological thriller combined with science fiction aliens. The movie is, sadly, not the case. "Dreamcatcher" is not a "Signs". It is a spectacle of vomiting proprotions...[Potential spoiler deleted]. Not only that, it is a poor adaptation full of cliches and pathetic acting. The military aspect of the movie was emphasised on too much and I found the storyline about the Down-syndrome kid a bit disturbing. Expand
