I have spoken with a woman who was Ed Gein's next door neighbor at the time of his arrest. Based on my conversation with her and other research I have done, I feel the movie has several factual errors. It implies that several people were inside the house prior to his arrest - specifically Mary the tavern owner and the woman he was trying to sell the house to - yet they did not notice I have spoken with a woman who was Ed Gein's next door neighbor at the time of his arrest. Based on my conversation with her and other research I have done, I feel the movie has several factual errors. It implies that several people were inside the house prior to his arrest - specifically Mary the tavern owner and the woman he was trying to sell the house to - yet they did not notice all the body parts hanging around the house or in jars in the kitchen. Based on what the police found upon entering the house, no one could have been inside and not have suspected what was going on. I felt it was only a mediocre representation of what really happened in Plainfield, WI. Expand

A disappointingly mild re-creation of true events.

Railsback and Snodgrass struggle against caricature in their own fine performances.
