Loved it. It wasn't so terrifying I couldn't watch it, but I screamed and jumped in all the right places.

Surprising funny, but sometimes it's TO much. Great special effects and spiderfreaks!

This is one FUN FUN FUN movie. Great special effects. If one were to say that this is a "stupid movie" then they must've missed the point that this is a campy campy campy spider movie. Cool action scenes and I (I can't believe that I dare say this) actually liked David Arquette for once. Yeah, it can actually BE stupid SOMETIMES but that's just so that the movie an appeal to more people. This is a fun fun movie. That Scarlett Johansson is hot as hell and so is Keri Wuhrer, that is a hot hot team. Letter Grade: B Expand

It was mostly a cut-sucking movie, spiders the star, rest is trash.

This is just Tremors with spiders instead of giant worms. What a waste.

Rejoice! Rejoice and be thankful! Movies still have a sense of fun! Ha ha! But please, I implore you, do not be taking it seriously-like. Or it'll look rubbish. Watch it in the spirit it was intended and you'll think it's fab.

Frankly, I like old sci-fi horror movies, but this one was one of the biggest ones I've ever seen, pretty much as cool as the old 1970's black & white mutant spider movies. Also a pretty catchy title I have to say. My compliments to the filmmakers, this film is cool, yet cheesy to people who object giant arachnids.

I understand this is supposed to be a campy, 50's-style horror flick, but I still didn't like it. David Arquette is good (but out of place), Wuhrer is commendable and solid, Johansson is mostly just worried about how good she looks (which is very good!), and the spiders just look goofy and ridiculous. This just wasn't my type of film so I won't bag it unnecessarily, but I will say that (IMO) it wasn't funny, it wasn't scary, it wasn't even that campy... it wasn't really anything. Expand

Film critics who score this film badly really have no joy in them!! The prefer films that are either disgusting or totally boring - and then say how "arty" it is. As for all the rest of us that aren't pretentious losers, take this film for what it is-a fun, undeniably stupid and exciting comedy.

Wow!! I can honestly say, this is one of the worst movies ever made. Actually, it's like watching something other than a movie, like a bunch of bad acting, cheesy dialogue and laughably crap special effects, and like this kind of slapstick childish unfunny type of humour, all exploded onto your screen!!!! It's a bit like something you'd see on Disney Channel, like in the same league as Lizzie McGuire. Expand

Not a big fan of horror movies (or spiders), but I liked this movie alot. It was very fun and lighthearted, even when people were being eaten by giant spiders. This movie isn't meant to be taken seriously, you'll come off as a giant loser if you do.

Pretty Good...as long as you're not expecting anything more than a monster movie about giant spiders.

Cheesy yet surprisingly enjoyable, whether or not your going to enjoy this depends on how much you like b rated movie, it's not scary at all, honestly I just about laughed throughout the whole, although I'm not sure whether I was laughing with it or at it.

A 50's movie concept given a modern make over. Tell your brain to go missing and enjoy the B rate acting, B rate CGI and B rate cast (including a young Scarlett Johansson)

In case you couldn't tell, this movie is supposed to be goofy. I mean, how much goofier can you get when you have a movie about spiders that grow to gigantic size when they eat contaminated crickets? One thing you should know is that this movie DOES NOT take itself seriously. But that's a good thing, because this movie is pure camp and nothing else. Characters are somewhat sloppy, the spider special effects are decent (especially for 2002) and the humor is well put together. All in all, if you are sad and want a movie to cheer you up, watch this. Expand

Best horror comedy I have ever seen, it has humour, gory, action and violence, has all the ingredients to make a fantastic film. This film is a must watch

Amid numerous identical skirmishes with leapfrogging arachnids, trace elements of black comedy and intentional camp are discernible but utterly extraneous.

This update of 1950s drive-in sci-fiers finds the right balance between icky, funny and scary, with sheer energy compensating for a script that could have used more parodic panache.

Has laughs, thrills, wit and scary monsters, and is one of those goofy movies like "Critters" that kids itself and gets away with it.
