A labyrinthine descent into the grotesque extremes of a Disneyfied society, Escape From Tomorrow is surreal for many reasons and wholly original because of them. It's also a daring attempt to literally assail Disney World from the inside out.

The acting isn't perfect (which is perhaps understandable under the circumstances), and the film's dream states sometimes try too hard, but Escape From Tomorrow has an otherworldly atmosphere that both hooks and engages.

Escape from Tomorrow is more of an experimental film than a traditional narrative, but intrepid viewers — or anyone who has ever visited a Disney park — will enjoy getting lost in this dark house of happy horrors.

Escape From Tomorrow, Moore’s sometimes surreal, sometimes sophomoric, black comic phantasmagoria, makes for a bumpy theme park ride.

Even as a quasi-experimental work of subjective surrealism, Escape From Tomorrow is massively erratic and isn't particularly original. But it must also be said that its take on Disney World, as well as many of its individual images, are indelible and won’t be easily forgotten.

The story of how Moore made the movie is ultimately more interesting than the film he’s put together. It’s not for lack of trying. It’s more a lack of a cogent story.

Juvenile, disjointed and pointlessly revolting at times, although there are a few moments of disturbingly stark visual beauty.

This movie is difficult to rate, I've never seen anything quite like it before. From watching the trailers, I thought "Okay, I guess this is one of those horror movies made scarier by having a happy context", but after watching, I realized that it's not your standard horror film, even for what I just mentioned. I guess I'd still classify it as a horror (even though it's not technically that scary), but a very different type of horror. I can at least say, it's quite a different movie, definitely unique, and overall, quite stressing but in a way that's intriguing. I honestly don't know how I'm going to rate this, it's one of those movies that you just have to watch for yourself, but I'll give it a 7 anyway. Expand
