My recommendation while watching this movie is, to concentrate more on the story editing and surprisingly good visuals than the comedy, because that may help you get better feeling while watching it. I'm not telling it's a complete crap, just a little crappy.

This is Ivan Reitman's best film since Ghostbusters! The movie had everything a good solid comedy needs.

It's not funny, but it definitely has a couple good laughs, and the special effects are amazing. I admit Reitman could have been a lot more original. But it wasn't a terrible movie.

I am now dumber from seeing this movie. The only "funny" segment in the entire film is an 120 second clip regarding Jones' colon.

Jeg synes at filmen var vildt god!! Især med "balde sprederen", og der hvor den kæmpe "rumting" slår en prut på dem, da de prøver at sprøjte hårshampoo op i den. Vildt god film, som jeg vil anbefale alle at se.

Good movie, reminded me of "Mars Attacks," except that "Mars Attacks" wasn't full of toilet humor.

I saw this movie about a week ago and came out thinking perhaps it had an enjoyable scene in it. . .although now I can't even remember that, just how unbelievably bad and unfunny "Evolution" is. Orlando Jones scores more laughs in his 7-Up commercials and Julianne Moore was funnier and more appealing in "Hannibal." Don't get me started on Duchovny. Or thinking about this movie again. I just may break down and cry. Expand

It'll absolutely make you laugh through it's length. This film also reminds me about "the ghost buster," which made me laugh almost every time I watch. And the words I like the most in this film is "I want to rock your world."

Okay, it's no "Ghostbusters," but it's the best new comedy I've seen in a really long time, and amidst the Joe Dirts and Fingered Freddies, this one really stands out with some clever Reitman-isms, hilarious creatures, and really satisfying performances from Duchovny, Jones, and (surprisingly) Scott.

A below-average script, but a fun flick because of the actors. See it for the enjoyable performances by David Duchovny ("X-Files," "Return to Me"), Seann William Scott ("American Pie," "Road Trip," "Dude Where's My Car?"), and Orlando Jones (7-Up Commercials, "The Replacements," "Double Take").

I thought it was pretty good. It had some parts it could have done without, but other than that, it was really good.

For those of you not familiar with his work on X-Files: David Duchovny really can be funny. But then, the writing's better for X-Files. Watch this movie if you are renting a bunch of them--by itself it'll leave you empty. PS: If the VCR eats the last five minutes of the tape don't worry, it's for the best.

This movie had a very obvious plot and to even throw it under the category as a "comedy" is far from the truth. I found the "so-called comedy parts" of the movie either obnoxious and/or boring.

There are some funny movies you accept as guilty pleasures because you enjoyed them so much. I expected Evolution was going to be like that, but I was wrong. I just plain didn?t like this movie, it was see-through stupid and frankly boring. Julianne Moore, Orlando Jones and Seann William Scott give a pinch of personality, but their performances can?t save the ultimate sense of stupidity in the air. The extra-terrestrial?s are appallingly ugly to look at. There is no comic rhythm or pattern in the movie, it?s messy story-wise and the laughs are few and far between. Evolution is confused with what it?s trying to achieve. Does it want to be an action movie? If so, the action scenes aren?t tense or exciting. Comedy? As I mentioned before, not enough belly laughs. Sci-fi/horror? Succeeds in this area only because there are some quite scary bits involving a platypus cross turtle looking creatures that comes right in your face and the score goes up. The sci-fi has good story building at the start (about the only genre in the film that has some back-story to it), but Evolution is too tired and misses way too many opportunities. If this film was left as the gut-punching horror movie it was going to be, it would?ve been much better. Expand

the movie was fun until the end. i liked how well it mixed comedy with science-fiction. the monsters were fun to watch and i laughed at the jokes of the main characters.

    An excruciating misfire.
  2. Director Ivan Reitman used to know how to tell a silly story, back around the time of "Stripes" and "Ghostbusters."

Amiably goofy, but it isn't especially funny.
