Everything about this excruciatingly dull, talky film screams made-for-network-TV: The I'm-only-here-for-a-paycheck performances by famous actors; the Crate and Barrel catalog mise-en-scene; the syrupy, heartwarming score that lays the pathos on so thickly you gag on it.
  2. Looks and tastes an awful lot like a TV movie of the week.
  3. Extraordinary Measures requires extraordinary tolerance for bathos, bombast and plain old unpleasantness.

It is an inspiring story and very well meaning, but it is so bogged down with extremely stereotypical characters and contains every cliche in the book, therefore it leaves nothing original for the viewer to enjoy. It relies too much on manipulating the audience with melodrama, rather than to offer originality. The performers try, and they do well with what they have. Well produced. It may be based on fact, but I wasn't convinced in the least. Full Review »

This was very medicore. Although the peformances were Ok..., this movie is good for doctors who love to hear facts about medical procedures. Unfournately, no one else really wants to see a movie almost all about facts about a girl's body. Full Review »

This is a stinker. Brendan Fraser is stiff and awkward. Harrison Ford's loud overacting is an embarrassment. Kerri Russell is fine, but the script gives her nothing much to work with. This could have been a gripping movie in the hands of someone competent, but Tom Vaughn's version is a dumbed-down production that is just painful to sit through. Full Review »
