  1. A funny, shrewd, no-bull family comedy about the relationship between mothers and teenage daughters that allows Curtis the comedian to remember her days as a slinky starlet while making use of her wisdom as the mother of an adolescent girl herself.
  2. Cheerful, energetic and on the money.
  3. The new "Freaky" plays the obvious gags in ways both surprising and imaginative.

Even though this is a light, cheerful picture about family relationships, it never feels overplayed -- its tone is bright without being garish. And it moves breezily.

There’s enough intelligence and wit here to sustain your interest, especially when Curtis and Lohan are in peak form. They put the freak in this Freaky Friday.
  6. The performances, of a higher order than the film's cheesy script and double-cheese direction, are the reasons to see the picture. A reason not to: the means by which parent and child trade bodies.
  7. 50
There's so much EFFORT here to convince us of the switcheroo (already one of Hollywood's oldest ploys) that we soon weary of it.

An excellent movie that shows precisely the conflict of the relationship between parents and children. And what child ever wished that his father was in his place so he could see what it is? Or even the opposite. A great film with good performances and an excellent script. Expand

Although the characters looked nothing like they were from 1984 (which was when the film took place), Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan give everyone plenty of laughs as their characters switch bodies momentarily and they have to figure out how to live the opposite's way of life the hard way. Mark Harmon is among the cast. Expand

The film has two very funny and sympathetic main characters. Because of its good story it gets better from second to second and is the funniest teen comedy I've ever seen. Expand

Another dumb comedy involving Lindsay Lohan. It has a lame story involving dumb scenes between the characters. We have seen these kinds of movies before. Very perdictable. Expand

Positively insufferable and almost arrogant in its persistent and formulaic tone. Even if it weren't a remake, Freaky Friday wouldn't be graced with the slightest ounce of originality. Collapse

The remake of Freaky Friday is terrible, crude, and contributes nothing extra to the movie everyone loved in '76. The casting of the two leads is a mistake, and the script is unfunny and uncomfortable. Watch the original, which is actually a good movie. Expand
