   Having been a fan of the original and not a big fan of hollywood remakes, i was worried about this redo. The basic premise is the same but the makers definitely augmented the whole storyline. Colin Farrell is passable, not great. It's probably the weakest part of the film...Jerry"s role. The other actors and their parts are really good. Peter Vincent's reincarnation is pretty ingenious. Overall, this is a really good summer movie. Really really funny too...and most of that can't be showed in trailers because it would amiss of context. Not sure why this didn't do well at the box office...I think the trailers failed to show the humor. The Russian kid who plays Charlie and the girl from 28 Weeks Later are excellent in their roles...as is McLovin and Toni Colette. Most fun i had at the movie this summer...for sure.… Expand

   A very enjoyable mix of campy suspense, action, and humor. Great performances all around, with the highlight being Colin Farrell as Jerry the vampire. My friends and I loved it. Give it a watch, it might surprise you.… Expand

   Nothing new in this teen vampire flick, except for the lack of nudity. I usually stay away from these movies but the Green Metacritic rating and the name actors peeked my curiosity. It is different from the usual fare (nubile lasses needing no reason to remove their tops), but not here. Someone must owe someone as Mr Farrell and MS Collette appear. Mr Farrell may have had good fun being the "bad guy" but Ms Collette is clearly here for her name as she has a very small meaningless part. There are a couple of attractive women (a fetching girlfriend and crying stripper) but also with little dialogue, although our hero does need a sweetheart to encourage him. Mr Yelchin plays it for real, although there are a few laughs, it tries to be a serious film. He is believable and does have some unusual facial expressions, but overall he is average. The film is well made, good pacing, silly and preposterous at times, but aren't most teen vampire films? I wanted to like it as the "names" do a credible job, but it's just not worth seeing. Not horrible, but not recommended (C+).… Expand

   Its awful. There is a feeble attempt to interject some 'are you from London' english humor but it falls flat. This is a awful awful movie......i dont get it. What was Colin Farrell thinking !… Expand
