The original Ghostbusters will always be a classic that means something special to me. The good news is, there’s a whole new generation that’s about to feel that way about this one. And more power to them.
The big CG sequences are less captivating than simply watching the four ladies kick it with a pizza. Wiig and McCarthy nestle into their comfortable roles as the soft-spoken priss and the bustling madwoman, leaving room for Jones to barge in with her big punch lines. But keep your eyes on the background. That’s where Jones’s Saturday Night Live costar McKinnon lurks, quietly transforming herself into a movie star.

I skipped seeing this gem in theaters because of all the bad hype about it, a decision I wholeheartedly regret!
As with all Paul Feig’s films, Ghostbusters: Answer the Call is a laugh-out-loud experience with great action sequences that the whole family can enjoy.
Some criticize the men as being "dumbed down" or purposefully rude/ignorant in this film, but they’re really on par with most of the bit characters in the original.
As someone who grew up with the original films, cartoons, and comics; I’m glad to say that this reboot is a refreshing take on the franchise that’ll leave you feeling nostalgic and wanting more.

I loved this movie!! It was funny and has awesome effects. The cast was perfectly picked and it was worth buying. I hope they make another one! The only down side was I know that women get shown as dumb and only wanting to look good in movies, but i felt like the guy was a little too dumb. It was funny though and he had a good time playing the role. It would have been fun to play coming from a stage actress opinion. in all i couldn't be happier with the results.

As enjoyable as this movie is, sometimes it feels like it’s holding back; no one’s id runs wild. But the limitations of Ghostbusters make Wiig, McCarthy, McKinnon, and Jones even more valuable. They make a big franchise-starter warmer and more endearing than it needs to be.
This is a mediocre horror/comedy that deserves neither high praise nor disparagement.
For all its warm-hearted fun, well-crafted thrills, careful nostalgia and girl-powered gadgetry, this fast-paced family film doesn’t always feel like a natural fit for Hollywood’s favourite genre-bender.
The all-new, mostly female Ghostbusters reboot is in theaters, full of terrific special effects, icky green slime, a horribly haunted Manhattan and, yes, the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. But the big laughs you’d expect from a "Bridesmaids" reunion of director Paul Feig and stars Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy never materialize.
Ghostbusters is a horror from start to finish, and that’s not me saying it’s legitimately scary. More like I was horrified by what was transpiring onscreen.
GHOSTDUMPERS takes a well loved franchise and craps all over it. If the originals didn't exist then this would be an ok kids movie Disney would be proud of. I think Bill Murray insisted his character be killed so he wouldn't have to soil himself again by getting involved in any future GHOSTURINATOR movies. If you wanted GHOSTBUSTERS 3 go play or youtube the Ghostbusters 2009 game. It's got the original cast including Harold Ramis. RIP Ghostbusters.

It's like the original Ghostbusters movie, if the original Ghostbusters movie rehashed the plot of the original, and replaced the witty humor with forced jokes and an obscene amount of product placement.
