Kagan's green-screen filmization, in its over-busy editing, ever-changing angles and constantly shifting backdrops, strips the play of its starkness, leaving disproportionate schmaltz and propaganda.

Harper and the film's director, Jeremy Kagan, try valiantly, but they are unable to bring Meir to life or hold viewers' attentions.

Valerie Harper is terrific but the direction is dreadful. It feels (and looks) like a bad music video with bad green screen shots and VERY jumpy cutting, the editing ruins a fine performance. Clearly the director didn't trust the two best things he (and the movie) had going, Valerie Harper's performance and Bill Gibson's writing. Expand
