  • Summary: Two outcasts who feel small-town Sandusky, Ohio closing in on them, Gypsy and Clive lose themselves in Gothic fantasies, soothed by the retro sounds of The Cure, Siouxie and the Banshees, and Bauhaus. When Gypsy and Clive learn about the annual "Night of 1000 Stevies" in New York City, their deep-seeded dreams are unleashed. With Clive's encouragement, Gypsy crushes her fears and vows to be the best Stevie Nicks impersonator Gotham has ever seen. (Small Planet Pictures) Expand

Films like this have a way of finding their own devoted fan base, and Gypsy 83 deserves to be discovered not only by Goth and gay crowds, but by anyone who runs screaming from all things average.
  2. Rue plays her with just the right combination of sweetness, sexuality and sass.

This offering is a mostly undistinguished addition to the long list of films about alienated and self-pitying young people.

A depressingly predictable journey of self-discovery.

BEST MOVIE I HAVE EVER SEEN!
  3. There's nothing in this movie to keep you watching. Almost every single character is unbelievable. Its far to melodramatic for whatever it's going for. Not worth your time unless you're into BBWs or guy-on-guy. Expand
