Much of the movie involves NEWSWEEK headquarters in NYC and actions of the croatian troops. The basic plot is the massacres of civilians in a butal way, and to portray it as hell where the journalists are there to tell the truth. There is a love story but it doesnt really grab you. You are just shocked again to see all the things that have happened, specially in the backyard of powerfull countries that cant return the same favor once received by US to others because they live a self-serving life by nature or shown by their history. This movie is needed at this moment because some political circles are trying to re-write the croatian history by putting the equal sign between Milosevic and Tudjman. Croatian people was attacked, not the agressor. Anyone that was there during the war knows that fact (especially those who attacked my homeland).

  1. The movie's still a solid "B," a workmanlike drama.
  2. The story's a trifle, but it's consistently edgy as the team stride straight into the middle of grisly violence so they can capture it on film.

As far-fetched as it sometimes seems, the film resonates in the wake of the murder of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl.
