    What the heck was this?? Chris Rock is awesome but this movie is a total mess.

    I went to laugh. Not nearly enough jokes and comedy. Simply not funny, nor is it impressive enough to be taken seriously.

    Rock can be a hilarious standup comedian, but whenever he attempts a movie, something gets lost in the translation. "Head of State" contains a few classic Rock moments, yet the majority of the film drags. The script also suffers from the "Austin Powers" syndrome -- a joke that?s initially humorous won?t be the eighth time around.

    the conservative, racist, republican, snotty, uptight should not see this movie...everyone else is in for chris rocks besst treat ever, a instant comedy classic from DC!

    If you go to the movie "Head of State" expecting a comedy where you will be laughing out loud hysterically, you will be dissipointed. If you go to this movie with feelings that "ok, there will be a few laughs, but the story line will be interesting enough," then you will enjoy this movie. This movie truly was a good movie. But in Chris Rock's next movie, he really should try to find a way to fit more jokes into the script.… Expand

    When comics decide not to be funny, it is a recipe for disaster. Unfortunately, Head Of State falls in this category.

    Though the comedy falls short of a debacle -- which is what such egocentric projects tend to be -- it isn't as sharp, fast or funny as Rock's stand-up routines.
