It’s too bad the muted Home Run didn’t take its own advice about being daring and inventive.

Almost from the beginning the message overwhelms the medium.

I have only been to three films in theaters where the audience clapped and cheered, and this was one of them. The others were The Avengers and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. Too preachy? Pfft! Nah! This isn't that preachy. It does have a lot of relatable life lessons though. From the importance of fatherhood to the recovery from addiction, it has it all. The baseball scenes were also beautifully filmed. Overall the film is worth your time. SEE IT! Expand

This movie would make a weak "Hallmark Hall of Fame" movie. The plot is predictable and stilted. The actors are quite pleasant in their rolls and do well considering the material. Very preachy in parts. Collapse
