Philip K. Dick's stories are always intriguing. And more good news, those snazzy helmets from Starship Troopers were kept in prop storage for projects such as this. The actors are competent and up for the project, but their characters are unconvincing and disposable. The presentation is dark, garbled, erratic, bland and generally unimaginative. The concluding plot twist is cool, but by that time who cares. Expand

When Vincent D'Onofrio gives the order to strap Gary Sinise in the vivisect, I was reminded of Forest Whitaker's participation in "Battlefield Earth". Actors like the above mentioned (add to the list: Stowe and Pena) don't belong in a film this disposable. Impostor is more action movie than sci-fi. Sinise does a lot of running but at least he doesn't have to crash into plates of glass like Barry Pepper in Travolta's Gate. Expand

A complete waste of a good premise. Gary Fledler's direction during the action sequences are among thee worst ive seen.

A very disappointing sci-fi film. But Sinise isn't the worst thing in this film. The direction is just terrible and the action sequences laughable. Philip K Dick would have commited suicide if he would have been alive when this film came out!

I enjoyed that movie, it was fun to watch, and kept me on the edge of my seat. I now believe that reading reviews is completely useless. Inception had great reviews, so did Hurt Locker and Black Swan, but I found those flicks completely unbearable to watch.
Everybody judge for him (or her)self.

Isn't really a movie, it's only impersonating one.
  2. It's a pleasure to watch a thinking-man's actor like Sinise adapt so easily to this challenge; he even keeps his dignity when forced to participate in the inevitable martial arts-inflected showdown.
  3. The last 15 minutes finally get it together for what passes as a movie experience with a considerable "gotcha!" quotient.
