An expert blend of world building, humanity, and the magical strangeness of Final Fantasy. Best of all, you don't need to know anything about Final Fantasy to love it.
The film is, at least, a marvelously enticing advertisement for the upcoming Final Fantasy XV video game.

An absolute masterpiece that will go down as a classic that you'll want to watch again and again.
It is impressive, the story here is actually better than the game it's based on.
I'd wish we would have these level of graphics in a video game.

The slick animation and exciting battles lose their novelty eventually, and there’s just not enough here in the way of edge-of-the-seat storytelling or vivid characters to compensate.
Like many a poorly-plotted video game, “Kingsglaive” manages to skate by for a while on the sheer splendor of its visuals.
It quickly becomes apparent that the narrative content of “Kingsglaive” is a barely coherent muddle.
Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV is so lacking in human interest, or even in merely satisfying action, it is difficult to imagine anyone wanting to pay to sit through it. What Takeshi Nozue's movie does offer is massive, vividly rendered landscapes of sci-fi/fantasy pastiche, home to mayhem that is prettier than it is involving.
This spinoff from the story of a magical kingdom besieged by an evil empire is too ludicrous for words.
A creative masterpiece. The visual variety and world building here are a rare find in film. A must see for any spectacle enthusiasts looking to broaden their visual library.

Incredible visuals, overall. Scenes with no people felt completely real. Scenes with people were ok, but lacking in the facial movement.
There are too many characters, too many names, and it's a bit too confusing overall. I just watched it and I didn't really retain what happened. I have been playing epic RPGs and JRPGs for my entire life, and haven't had this problem... I think it's just trying to cram too much into too short of a time.
Main characters' voice acting was great, but the dialogue was a bit stilted. While this made it feel more like a traditional JRPG, it's not a good move for a movie.
I'd rate it higher if they came up with some new ideas, but this whole "Empire/magic/technology/ships/destiny" thing is getting old.
Overall, it's meh. I wouldn't even try to understand it and just watch for the visuals.

Everything what characters said was so cliche that I felt like those generic dialogs were written by intern. People also not tend to joke much while they are this close to dying. Like seriously - is it a comedy or a drama? You should've decided beforehand and pursued one or another, NOT both!
And it ends on a cliffhanger..
That's the worst time I've spent on a movie. I always felt like all those tremendous work that 3D team done was spoiled by how storywriters/scriptwriters handled it(just one BIG failure).

There is some great action sequences, and some great CG. Too bad the script is so predictible and generic, and the story is nothing more than a thin excuse for a lot of action sequences that add up to nothing more than a reallllllly long trailer. Mix in all the bad CG, which is even more striking when it is on-screen at the same time as the high-detail characters, and anime tropes, and the end result is a watch once and forget experience. This should have been a free download with the game, nothing more.
Though there is some good voice acting, but again, there are only a few of those mixed in with mediocre to poor performances.
I should have trusted the professional reviewers, but saw a clip that only had the high-quality CG and fell for it. Well played.
