Even though we were just 2 of 6 people in the theater on Saturday night of opening weekend, I thought this movie should have been given a much wider release and a marketing push. Knightly and Worthington are excellent, as is Knightly's old flame Guillame Canet. In a much smaller role, Griffin Dunne is extremely effective. He seems a little slick and libertarian, but offers the most unexpectedly "moral" perspective of anyone. The film focuses on the "big" issues and doesn't dwell on the petty issues of getting caught like most movies of its ilk generally do. The ending is excellent... Expand

A really entertaining romantic drama. Really good performance from Keira Knightley and believe it or not but when Sam Worthington isn't trying to cover up his accent he can actually act. The two main supporting characters do a good job at providing temptation for the Worthington and Knightley. But what I really liked the tone and atmosphere of the movie. It takes place in the city at night over one night. It had a very cosmopolitan feel to it, like everything is laid back, cool and easy flowing. A solid movie. 8/10. Expand

A realistic and occasionally insightful film about love and betrayal. All the characters seemed real and interesting, with the exception of Sam Worthington's, who lacked some depth. The idea that the film isn't sexy enough is missing the point; its not about sex but about relationships and how to juggle them when you care about two people who wants and needs conflict. It successfully portrayed how appealing an affair can be but also how much meaning a marriage still holds. Expand

This movie made Amelia with Gere and Swank look exciting. Knightly and Worthington are completely wasted in this drivel. Although it was good to see Worthington in something else besides ancient armor it didn't help. These were the most unsympathetic characters I've see on film in a long time. There is no exploration of any consequence of the characters. It seems as if the intent was too produce a "see what happens if you cheat" movie and then the writer got lost trying to bore us to death. Expand

A movie about a couple (always amazing Sam Worthington & skinny Kiera Knightley) who seem to have a good relationship with each other - and yet they crave for something else, even if they do not know about it.

Joanna (Knightley) suspects that her husband Michael (Worthington) is having an affair with his co-worker Laura (Eva Mendes) - while she herself is harboring a dark secret
regarding one Alex Mann (Guillaume Canet).

This is essentially a romantic, slow-paced, "much talk, little action" kind of movie about the wants and desires of people, and the decisions they make based on those emotions.

The movie wasn't boring, and it didn't seem too long, but the fact that very little was going on didn't appeal to me personally (I just watched this to see Sam Worthington, no denying it).

A good movie for a watch or two, especially if you're into that slightly tragic romantic stuff. The actors did a good job, though; simple, yet minimalist.

Yes, this premise has been touched on in dozens of films. What Last Night manages to achieve is a deeper and more intimate look at relationships. Side note: Keira Knightley is amazing.

An underrated little film about life, relationships, and choices. The wonderful direction by Tadjedin and good performance from Keira Knightley make this film what it is. Worthington is also solid, but not as much when Knightley is not on screen with him. I might have wanted a little more from Mendes and Canet. Good character piece.

Somehow less than the sum of its very impressive parts. Massy Tadjedin brings out the best of her strong cast but all the eyeball-melting beautyon display and the highly polished treatment of the story could have done with a touch of authentic grit.

Last Night is a New York morality play: A film in love with (lower) Manhattan that is suspicious of real romance. What it lacks is Allen's sense of horseplay; his appetite for lunatic adventure. When you take a bite of the Big Apple, you're not supposed to nibble.

It's the sort of movie that thinks cutting between two different stories makes it art. Usually, it feels like an exercise in art. There's a lot of calisthenics but very little beauty or truth or whatever it is the movie is going for.
