Best french movie of all time. If you haven't see it, you've better watch it. it's the dark version of ''One day'' with Anne Hathaway. There is complicity and chemistry between the two actors.

I can see this film is far too unconventional for Hollywood critics to praise. Marion Cotillard and Guillaume Canet share a dazzling chemistry in this authentic romantic thriller. Its tangled story may seem confusing for audiences used to more linear plot lines. Marion Cotillard and Guillaume Canet share a dazzling chemistry in this authentic romantic thriller. Its tangled story may seem confusing for audiences used to more linear plot lines. The whole picture seems illogical, there are a lot of plot holes and inconsistencies, as well as some complicated allegories, all actually designed to give viewers the freedom to think and decide if and how it touched them. Although it starts like a common tearjerker, it quickly evolves into an off-centre experience full of symbolisms about life, innocence, right and wrong, courage and love. Darker and more vivid than most romances you have watched.

Do not try to find elsewhere an answer to what happens in the end, though. That's up to you to decide.

Despite the sterling performances by the two main actors, the movie tends to lose pace in the second half and needs more secondary characters. But for a first time in the director's chair, Samuell shows a deftness of touch that bodes well for the future.

The film's attempts at meaning do it in. The longer it goes on and the darker it grows, the further it drifts from any kind of human experience, outside of its protagonists' particular flavor of madness.

If you like romantic movies but find Hollywood's increasingly sterile formulas to be a poisonous bore, Love Me if You Dare offers an antidote.
