Adults will be more than passably entertained by this short, patriotic feature, and kids will be entranced.
  2. A gee-wonderful virtual visit to the arid orb, which uses ingenious technical sleight of hand to -- let's face it -- fake it beautifully.

An unapologetic cheerleader for exploring the final frontier, Hanks wrote and produced (along with director Mark Cowen) this enthralling look at what might be the greatest technological feat of the 20th century.
  4. The results are impressive. Maybe, as the U.S. falls abysmally behind other nations in the sciences, it will get kids interested in that field again.
  5. Aims for the junior stargazer in a release coinciding with NASA's new moon-by-2018 initiative. The movie is unmistakably a pitch, and an honorable one.
  6. The film is an unabashed promotion for space exploration.
  7. A choppily told tribute to the Apollo astronauts that makes striking use of never-before-seen archival images.
