    Brilliantly devastating. And i would give anything to see this film again. It was the colors of Brazil. Twisting and grotesque, yet this strange beauty.

    This movie was lacking. It leaves you feeling empty, the characters don't go anywhere. You know whose going to sleep with who and you get a little flash of beautiful naked brazilian women. To truly enjoy this movie you need to be drunk. Brazil has more to offer than meaningless dribble.

    Like characters out of some Carnival hell, a macho butcher and his born-again wife, a forlorn barmaid, a sinister sadist and the gay manager of a flophouse called the Hotel Texas run in and out of each other's lives in a film as sloppy, sluttish, scruffy and vital as they are.

    For all the grimness and desperation on view in Mango Yellow, the characters emerge as robust, full-dimensional people in touch with their explosive feelings.
