SIMONM.Sep 14, 20070Uuhhhh anyone see School for Scoundrels? yeah that wasn't funny either. Oh wait thats right the ONLY funny movie Billy Bob Thorton was ever in was Bad Santa and that movie is average as is. Save your money, thank god I had a free pass or I'd have been mad as hell.

GerrickC.Jan 22, 20085Takes some steam to get "funny", and when it finally does get "funny" the "funny" really isn't that "funny."

DanK.Feb 16, 20086No classic but Mr.Woodcock provides enough decent laughs to make for a fun Friday night picture

MikeG.Jan 26, 20088Great movie. it appears to me that comedy movies almost never get a good score here at metacritic. people take themselves too seriously.plot/situation creates jokes through the entire movie. absolutely is better than average.

Nov 26, 20114It was actually rather boring through out and had very little funny parts. The acting was pretty generic and wasnt as good as I expected either. It was just another below average comedy.
-
Feb 2, 20123Its typical that we see something like this - An overall generic comedy with an experianced cast. There are very few funny moments in this film and it does get rather stale but the cast makes the film a lot better then what it should have been. Its just a below average comedy really. Something you watch when you are up late at night and have nothing better to do.

Amy Poehler ekes out a smirk or two as a boozy broad publicist trying to keep her paycheck in check, but even the best gags feel like leftovers, again.
-
Uninspired, sure, but sporadically, spasmodically funny.

Unfortunately, Mr. Woodcock is funny for exactly five minutes, during which time Woodcock is shown throwing basketballs at boys' heads and mocking them for having dead parents.
