    It's no great surprise how things end up for this tossed-under-one-roof bunch. How they get there, however, provides a largely fertile playground for the picture's talented comic ensemble.

    The Americans are clich├ęd and vapid, and seeing them get knocked around and told to wake up can be validating if you know people as obnoxious and spoiled as them.

    A behind-the-scenes comedy about the making of a reality TV show, My Uncle Rafael looks suspiciously like an outright sitcom itself, with the same careful dosage of sententiousness and one-liners.
