Having recently read the book "A Short Life" by Ian Jones, it was not a good idea to watch this movie expecting it to be 100% historically accurate based on the facts and probable events presented in his book. It's a movie for entertainment's sake, and fair enough, but even so I had trouble finding it as such.

This movie was very slow in spots and could have maintained a greater momentum due to editing. It did have however have a certain appeal as Ned Kelly was portrayed as an 1870's Robin Hood, which may or may not be entirely true. Worth renting if you are seeking a hero of dubious origin.

Fabulous movie, Heath Ledger played an amazing role, and it brought out the sorrow and struggle.

I thought this was a great movie. Heath Ledger did an awesome job, and fit the real portrayal of Ned Kelly. The movie had a great polt, to tell the real story of Ned Kelly and the kind of person that he really was. The tormented life that the Kelly's lived, thanks to the Victorian Police. I thought the movie was well constructed, Jordan did a fabulous job. I think Heath Ledger did an extremely well acting job and he gets two thumbs up! Expand

Expect nothing, get much. This is a good movie, worth a rent, especially if you never heard of it and just stumble upon it at a video store like I did. But one thing, isn't Geoffrey Rush getting a tad bit typecast? I swear he's played the same guy in every movie since Shine.

This movie was absolutely the worst movie I've ever seen. I actually am excited to see it again just because I cannot comprehend what went so wrong with this craptastic piece of nothing.

A bad movie, without Orlando Bloom's charismatic performance, it would have deserved a zero.

Expertly combining the personal and the epic, Jordan has crafted an excellent historical saga that doesn't collapse under the weight of too much history.

An impressively staged, dark-toned revisiting of the life and times of Australia's boldest and most charismatic outlaw.
