What's oddly appealing about this film is the sweetness that the director, François Velle, manages to extract from Craig Sherman's rather bitter screenplay.
  2. New Suit is devilishly good fun.

Takes a relatively easy route by bestowing happy endings on the principals, but at least it’s savvy enough to realize that showbiz isn’t all there is to life.
  4. Satire works when it's sharp and funny. When it's not, you get New Suit, an unremarkable sour-grapes comedy about the obsequious players and inconsequential products of Hollywood.
