  • Summary: Hava (Kumar), a beautiful Pakistani-American girl, returns fully grown to America after a traditional upbringing in Pakistan where her parents felt she would be untainted by American culture. Finding herself in an exciting new environment, Hava's eyes open to life's possibilities. She thinks her dream of going to the University will come true, but her marriage has already been arranged by her parents. As a result, Hava finds herself engaged in not just a clash of cultures, but a battle for her very survival as an individual. (Illuminare Entertainment) Expand

  1. Reviewed by: G. Allen Johnson
    50
Its story of intergenerational conflict between immigrant parents and increasingly Westernized children falls flat.
  2. Broadly acted, clumsily written and directed with crude sincerity, it is a well-meaning feminist morality play unlikely to be of much interest outside the community in which it takes place.
  3. 40
Were it not for Kumar's luminous charisma, the film would be unwatchable.
  4. 40
Hobbles a likable cast with dialogue flatter than Bollywood's cheesiest.
  5. 25
So bland that it fails to make an impression.
