  1. Exhilarating and enchanting family picture. It's the best I've seen this year and highly recommended for girls and for boys, too.

Nim's Island is engaging for the most part, and the story isn't half bad. The execution is about right, and the movie almost lives up to its full potential. Full Review »

Nim's Island is an uninteresting fairy tale.
The movie starts off at an odd concept that doesn't seem very logical. The acting is somewhat
over done do to a lack of good dialogue in the script. The ending result is an okay family movie that could have been far better with improved writing. It feels like a children's storybook in real life. Full Review »

It's mostly Home Alone on a tropical island with perhaps a touch of Mowgli. It's all rather Disneyesque but the talented Abigail Breslin and the charming setting keep it entertaining enough to watch. Jodie Foster's performance as an agoraphobic writer, however, takes the movie that extra mile. Well above the usual family fare. Full Review »
