The filmmaker’s irreverent directness with his subjects makes for a savagely funny and bluntly insightful portrait of those who live with disfigurement.
  2. Rare enough to make NoBody’s Perfect an exemplar of fresh-air filmmaking that addresses the devastating legacy of the drug thalidomide with acidic wit and grumpy honesty.

Too bad von Glasow dissipates the effect with a tentative last-minute Michael Moore-lite gesture, the final mark of a slack, scattershot approach that ill serves the director's intermittently audacious film.
  4. This doc is far from perfect, formally it accomplishes nothing new and has opportunities to go places that could have been massive, but these missed opportunities don’t undermine its other accomplishments. It’s imperfect and still does quite a lot.

The film tastefully handles the sensitive subject, but it lacks the bite that a Michael Moore would have provided.
