Has an intimate, personal quality. Rather than showboating for the camera, the soldiers get to a deeper level, conveying a surprisingly reflective and aware sensibility.
Superb documentary.
Timeless and tragic.
A powerful documentary about a squad of Army grunts patrolling the Iraqi city of Fallujah in late 2004.
Helmers Garrett Scott and Ian Olds offer a sympathetic look at the average Joe doing duty in hell -- as well as a sharp indictment of the Pentagon's cavalier support for the troops.
Misleadingly billed as a Fallujah documentary, Occupation: Dreamland covers a six-week period when not much was happening there.
It's a movie with the exciting parts cut out.
