Gives new meaning to the phrase rat race. [15 Aug 2003, p.22]
Cosmatos, surprisingly, manages to create something resembling a suspenseful atmosphere, all while managing to get Shannon Tweed naked in the first three minutes. Whether you like giant rats or Canadian Playmates, this movie has something for everyone.
Directed with flair by George Pan Cosmatos and filled with sly references to Moby Dick and The Old Man and the Sea, this film is a successful blend of terror and humor, played with some real fervor by Weller.
The comic possibilities of this are generally ignored in Brian Taggert's screenplay and the direction of George P. Cosmatos, which features about as many shots from the point of view of the rat as of Bart Hughes.
