I found myself laughing more times than I was feeling scared. Actually I don't think I was ever scared during the movie. Just a really crappy film.

The most shocking thing abut this movie is that anyone cared enough to go on with it's no-sense making story. An awful waste of time with cheap scares and bad acting.

It was decent. A little better than The Grudge, which isn't saying much.

Hilariously bad. The moments which were meant to be tense were laughed at by the audience. There are several things which let this movie down. Primarily, that it wasn't cut off at the storyboard stage. Some barely-believable acting earns this 1 point, but a shockingly poor story, and a production team as mind-numbingly stupid as the film's characters mean that the quite poor acting is the only thing that earns any kind of recognition from me. It's not just a not criticy movie. It's a bad one. Expand

This was just about the worst movie i have seen in 2008. It lacked originallity and creativity and bored me to tears. I wasted my money by watching it. It seems they just cannot makes scary movies like they used to... I give this movie two thumbs DOWN!!!!

UN-suspenseful, not well written, gaping plot holes worthy of only the finest swiss cheese and just generally laughable. I mean, i actually started laughing during some parts of the movie. Not at the lame attempts and some humor in it either, but during what I can only assume was supposed to be the climax.

If horror films were populated with smart characters, nobody would die. A smart person avoids dark places, especially if they're alone. A smart person doesn't get into a crawl space. That's where they keep the dead bodies. Beth(Shannyn Sossamon) is the sort of heroine that inspires audience participation. When Beth isn't putting herself in harm's way, she's endangering her friends. Beth is practically an accomplice when the first male victim gets murdered. Her college friend's untimely demise is a symptom of callous neglect. Beth had witnessed the supernatural occurence with her pal's cell-phone, and should've never left the doomed girl alone. It's up to you. Beth is either a bad friend, or the victim of a bad script that renders everybody with bad judgment so the story can progress towards a convoluted fatalism. "One Missed Call" has its share of eye-popping visuals, but they're recycled from other Japanese(or Japanese-inspired) horror flicks. Expand

Another j-horror remake that just doesn't get it. The only remake to get it, so far, has been the original Ring remake. Of course, remaking a Miike movie for the PG-13 crowd is a misstep and was doomed from the get-go. Also, for the record, the original Japanese version came out in 2003, while Final Destination was released in 2000. That said, Takashi Miike probably never saw Final Destination as he was too busy pumping out four movies and a TV mini-series that year. Expand

It's not as bad as people think. Usually I don't get scared at horror movies, but this one really freaked me out. It's suspensful, freaky, and enjoyable. The deaths do mirror final destination, but its worth it to give it a chance.

Just to sum it up, it's like Final Destination only stupider and with cell phones. If you hated Final Destination and hate cell phones then this movie will damn sure be on your most hated movies list.

Ok, stupid people gotta get this straight. The Original Japanese one came out before Final Destination. SO Final Destination copied this! They pretty much butchered the Japanese one, but i gotta give it credit for entertaining me.. and the 2 main Actors being good, Unlike most PG-13 Horror movies when they suck.

America just need to stop remaking Asian horror movies. They'll always be full of cancer and fail.

An awful remake of an awful Japanese Horror film. The only good part about this movie was the Exorcism scene. Quite violent for a PG-13 movie too.

The original movie One Missed Call is based on was pretty tame, at least by Miike standards. And since it appears studios have no intention of halting this flood of abysmal rehashes, allow me to suggest that they at least have the stones not to pussyfoot around and give us a remake worthy of Hollywood, of America, and of an audience that lacks the willpower to stop buying tickets to half-assed crap.

    Uninspired and painfully familiar.

The result is yet another tired, ultimately incoherent horror movie that undoes the promise of its pretty good premise and potentially interesting story structure with dull scares, sloppy ending and a pair of unconvincing, leaden lead performances.
