A hilarious and harrowing cautionary tale.

Brutally funny documentary.

Overnight's only narrative hole is an inability to pinpoint why Miramax stonewalled him.
67
Reminiscent of HBO’s new hit "Entourage."

Despite a last-minute attempt to bring poignancy to the tale, you don't walk away from Overnight feeling sorry for Duffy as much as you are glad you never met him.

Though Overnight seems to be cautioning us about the excesses of filmmaker ego, it isn't always consistent.

There's no doubt that Duffy was/is a terrible person to work for, but to pretend that Overnight is an unbiased look at Duffy's personality is just as delusional as Duffy was acting in this film. People who hated The Boondock Saints, and couldn't understand its cult status, use Overnight as some sort of rallying point for their cause, while people who have actually worked with Duffy (and rightfully can't stand him), point to Overnight and say, "See? This is what it was like." Yet, no one wants to discuss just how flawed and obviously-biased Overnight is, and how it's entire point (despite the poor claims to the contrary) is to smear Duffy across the floor. Expand
