    Extremely awkward. Plot development is empty and the acting is nothing special, which is the overall feeling of this movie...nothing special. Just another gruesome, gory, and violent movie trying to mask itself with a mildly interesting plot. By the end of the movie you find yourself saying "Why am I watching this?"

    Why 6? Two reasons: First, that's only a 6 in the Horror genre, which, being genre, is always going to be thin. If you're a Horror fan, it's worth seeing. Second, there aren't enough movies depicting the thin, psychological line tread by medical folks between caring and detachment. The problem with this movie is the scenes supposed to bring the viewer to this conclusion are hamfisted. The most bungled being the easiest to pull off - two buildup scenes where the "hero", already teetering on that edge, is supposed to be disgusted by the inhumanity of humanity. This makes his later descent into over-the-top debauchery seem just exploitative. Could have been so much better, but I think it's worth recognizing their attempt.… Collapse

    This movie is only to be watched by guys. Excessively VIOLENT. Not much of twist or interesting ideas.

    This is certainly not for the squeamish. It is well made, good photography, nicely edited but it's an unpleasant film with shallow characters. A lot of style, but not much substance.

    A superb dark thriller starring Milo Ventimiglia as a smart yet confused young doctor pulled into a life of crime and coruption. Made by the creators of Crank, this movie is one of the best movies i?ve seen.It takes a rather original and cruel perspective and it unleashes it in the most violent manner. Great movie.

    Milo Ventimiglia (of the blockbuster TV series Heroes), headlines this dark crime thriller, which marks the sophomore directorial outing of Marc Schoelermann, following the 2006 telemovie Hexxx. Ventimiglia portrays a young intern, newly arrived at the University Hospital in Philadelphia, who stumbles onto a psychopathic group of colleagues playing a vile game. They regularly select one of their members (on a rotational basis) to commit the "perfect murder," while the rest use forensic methods to try to determine exactly how the homicide was executed. Alyssa Milano (of TV's Who's the Boss? and Charmed) co-stars as Ventimiglia's fiancée, while thesps Johnny Whitworth and Lauren Lee Smith are among the perpetrators. Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor (of Crank fame) scripted. With its sensational mood, Pathology is one of the most enthralling and compelling films this year, so far. And with that spectacular "David Cronenberg" plot, Pathology scores high momentum in the movie score. From revisiting the frequent 2008 movies, there's not much of a selection, or if you want to go see Prom Night than be my guest. But Pathology was mind-twisting, stomach,gushing, and heart-pounding hothouse gripper. So far, it's bound to win for Best Picture. Highly recommended.… Expand

    A particularly nasty slice of medical-themed horror, Marc Scholermann's film is the sort of thriller in which the tenderest scene depicts an autopsy.

    Even squeamish viewers are apt to be captivated by the tight, credible scripting; these 20-somethings talk and behave like today's irony-clad young sophisticates. And whatever your opinion of the subject matter, you can't fault the filmmaking.

    When a movie opens with the diner scene from "When Harry Met Sally" as performed by cadavers, and later proceeds to sex scenes involving scalpels and needles, the actual plot is inconsequential. Fans of hard-R exploitation will love this; everyone else will likely be appalled. Screw 'em.
