This film circumnavigates the globe to show the viewer the horrendous impact of plastic upon modern man. There is no way as yet for people to gauge the impact that plastic has had upon their lives. We go through life literally bathed in plastic every single day. Yet, we have no clear understanding of what this is doing to our health. The fact that the global plastics industry works so relentlessly to block or refute studies that show that the constant daily exposure to plastics is very bad for us, should make us all wonder what data is being hidden. Given the slow degradation rate of plastic, this problem gets worse every day that you are alive. Perhaps if the plastics industry was more honest, mankind would have developed safe alternatives and the problem would be getting better over time. We do in fact now live on a plastic covered planet. It is too bad that far too many people can see a problem that is already coursing through their very bodies. Expand

This doc can be considered as one of a fad of eco-mentaries. Yet, it stands apart: the story of man's daily life revolving around plastic & plastic components is clearly depicted, has an emotional element and does, what other docs fail to do. This film has a story that goes beyond gaining weight, staying in your room for ages or depriving your family from toilet tissue. Boote's ambitious goals include finding out how plastics are made and how they're messing with our bodies and our planet.

Does little but raise an alarm, then leave it jangling.

Fast-paced and episodic, the film at times provides such a torrent of information that it becomes more wearisome than enlightening.
