    Director Lee Chang-dong could well have cut 30 minutes out of the story, but Jeon's performance is powerful enough to keep Secret Sunshine from drowning in an ocean of tears.

    Jeon received the Best Actress at Cannes for her wrenching performance. She's the first Korean to receive an acting award at this Festival.

    I don't know where to appreciate the director's talent, whether when the innocuous move is hindered by a deadly twist and avert the audience expectations from mundane matters OR when Jeon Do-yeon's trust towards faith gone topsy-turvy but I m sure, Secret Sunshine is a movie strictly for an observant. When you are a person of that kind, this movie will captivate you and made you speechless. Full Review »
