Still can't believe that an atrocity like this was allowed to happen in this day and age, but humbled to know that one man stayed to help as best he could,a true humanitarian and now one of my heroes.

This documentary is a perfect accompaniment to the book, the General is a personal hero, and I applaud him for what he's done. Humanity faced a test with Rwanda and we failed it but in his refusal to allow us to forget Rwanda, General Dallaire has not.

  1. This is a deeply engaging portrait of a remarkable man and a brutally frank indictment of the West's moral cowardice in the face of a tragedy it could have prevented.

Dallaire's tragic story is a fascinating chapter in a sad history.

The overall effect makes for a far more resonant film than that offered by concurrent narrative feature "Hotel Rwanada."
