  1. A skillfully made teen comedy with such an endearing sensibility that it's fun even for those old enough to be the grandparents of its stars.

    Not overwhelmingly original or funny.
  3. That a detente between the cliques is unthinkable, that they could never eat at the same table, is one of many assumptions that makes Sleepover such a downer.

That points to the problem at Sleepover's heart: It buys into the caste system it ostensibly flouts.

A frenetic, featherweight trifle aimed at tweener femmes.

It wants us to believe that being popular and getting the cutest guy in school really is the key to happiness. Like, how totally last century is that?

If ever a movie could be charged with imperiling the morals of a minor, it's probably Sleepover, a sleazy, PG-rated sex comedy that's apparently aimed at 8- to 10-year-old girls.

The jokes are corny, the plot seems implausible(Would kids actually be stupid enough to break the law for a nice lunch spot? Honestly?), and, it's just really awful. They had a character who was supposed to be a "chubby kid", and they tried to make it seem like "chubby kids can be cool too!", but, honestly, close to the ending, it starts to get offensive. The only possible way to enjoy this movie is if you have the ability to laugh at how horrible it is. Expand
