If your idea of fun involves zombies, monstrous physical transformations and alien slugs bent on world domination, look no further than James Gunn's gleeful homage to all things gross and horrible actually makes good on the "horror comedy" label by being both flat-out creepy and darkly funny.
It's the kind of movie that used to be called "trashy good fun," only there's nothing trashy about it: Gunn, who scripted the 2004 "Dawn of the Dead" remake, is clearly punch-drunk with horror-movie love; Slither is, among other things, a freewheeling homage to "The Blob, Invasion of the Body Snatchers" and just about everything by George Romero.

Slither was so much better than I expected.
Soooooo gory oh my god!
I really love this movie cause it's very disgusting.
I can unsderstand why some people don't like this movie...

Slither is neither repetitive nor reverent. It is a dark and hilarious spoof of those movies, one in which both the characters and the audience seem to be in on the jokes.
Slither is a gross, disgusting, but undeniably amusing treat laden with homages and in-jokes.
While Slither sometimes feels like a monster-mash, what makes it work is how nimbly it slaloms from yucks to yuks, slip-sliding from horror to comedy and back again on its gore-slicked foundation.
B movies are fun because they're rinky dink. I got the joke and just didn't like the joke even though I respect Gunn for doing what he wanted to do.
This looks great. The effects were convincing and the style simple but effective. There is CGI but it does not detract from the entertainment and isn’t even that noticeable. Really nice sound design. Not the most exciting mix but it fits with the film and it works so well. This has the best story and characters. It shows an alien landing and trying to take over the world. It is cheesy in a fun way. It is so disgusting and over-the-top that it is hard not to enjoy it! The mixture of the characters, the horror and the pace make this one of my favourite horror comedies of all time. It is not serious and it is disgusting with a brilliant core story and characters driving it.
