Attack of the Clones celebrates a certain youthful spirit in both moviemaking and movie watching; because it's as much phenomenon as movie, audiences will either ride with or reject it. I was happy to take the ride.
As for the breathless 45-minute climax, no screen fantasy adventure in memory can match the showmanship.

Prequels are the best of Star Wars in general.
This is what Lucas wanted his universe to be, and his ideas for Prequels made Star Wars absolutely great.Music has never been so good, lightsaber fights have a choreography, so it's now really impressive. And these movies tell a greek tragedy that's so beautiful.

Better movie than the first one, especially because C3PO is funnier than Jar Jar Bings. In addition there is no more little "I destroy whole battle stations alone" Anakin. This adult Anakin is more interesting and Hayden Christensen shows his little changes into the dark side very well. Beside of that the story is epic again, the landscapes and planets are very beautiful. Chancellor Palpatine is perfect as always. What was not so perfect? The "beta" behaviour of Anakin to Padme was annoying. What a Softie. Padme in contrast is a great character, I enjoyed her female traits.

The dark fantasist in Lucas makes a comeback after years of once-over-lightly.
Here we are again: not entertained, not nearly enough, by an installment of the ''Star Wars'' epic that, for the first time, exhibits symptoms of...nerves. And a chill, conservative grimness of purpose, rather than an excited thrill at the possibilities of cinematic storytelling.
Lucas knows his fans are un-boreable, un-annoyable and inexhaustible. For an artist, that's more a curse than a blessing.
Attack of the Clones' final 35 minutes very nearly makes up for the preceding 105, featuring as it does the jaw-dropping spectacle of the entire Jedi Council battling it out with not only clones, but also lumbering monsters, space ships of all sorts, and each other.
I can't remember ever feeling so glad that a movie was finally over. Lucas may have held my imagination hostage for two hours, but reclaiming it afterward wasn't hard at all.
Do yourself a favor and watch Attack The Clones in Machete Order (A New Hope, Empire Strikes Back, Attack of The Clones, Revenge of the Sith, Return of the Jedi.) after watching Empire Strikes Back earlier the same day. It turned this rotting lemon into juicy fresh tasting lemonade as it starts to powerfully reinforce Empire Strikes Back and tells the whole prequel trilogy single handed. The parallels between Empire and Attack of the Clones are striking, and scrapping Episode 1: The Phantom Menace in Machete order fixes almost all of Clones' major issues.

Lucas dumbed down the film to suit kids, even though there are some very disturbing topics in the pre-trilogy.
