  1. Stallone's sequel has almost nothing to do with the original film except that it's about dancing; otherwise, it's Rocky IV with legwarmers. [16 Jul 1983]

Staying Alive, the sequel to John Travolta's "Saturday Night Fever," plays like wet cement. [16 Jul 1983]

Staying Alive is a big disappointment.
  4. This one is clumsy, mean spirited and amazingly unmusical.

Time has shown this to be one of the strongest sequels in film history. A must see!

I haven't seen this since I saw it in a theater in 1983. I plan on keeping it that way. I remember liking a few of the songs, but I also remember a terrible story. It's like something a cokehead would make and think it's good. Expand
