How can the critics not get this film? no wonder I dont read the reviews. This movie is hillarious, far better than what we usually get. Mega Funny - Mary is a superstar.

I know it is an extremely cheesy movie, but oh my goodness my girlfriends and I watch this movie everyday. It is our most favorite movie. It just gets funnier with time. I highly recommend it to people who enjoy cheesy comedy and silly movies.

THIS IS THE GREATEST MOVIE EVER! I pride myself on being like her! SHE KICKS ASS!! My feelings would best be described in a mounlouge from the made for tv movie "sybil" starring a young Ms.Sally Fields playing a woman with multiple personality disorder ...MUHAHAHHAHA!! ALL THESE OLD PEOPLE WHO ARE PUTTIN DOWN THE MKG NEED TO TONE IT DOWN A BIT!

I used to go to a catholic school so it all kinda hits home. of course i wasn't anything like Mary Catherine, I was more like Evian other than the blond hair. Me and my buddy absolutely love Superstar! We like all quote the movie when we talk, and w make these really stupid references to it. We're like obsessed. Molly Shannon is hilarious! Will Ferrell is insanely attractive, I can understand why Mary Catherine wants to kiss Sky. Only I wouldn't just stop at kissing! haha. -Lish Expand

It has it's moments, but all in all the movie doesn't live up to the comedic brilliance of its lead.

The film's light success really comes down to Shannon, though, the exuberant "SNL" star whose alter ego actually seems more real and sympathetic here than she does in brief TV skits.
  2. Endearing if slight, Superstar at least knows what it's doing the whole way.

A pleasant surprise...more directorial personality here than most "SNL"-derived features get...the cheerily absurd, color-saturated atmosphere recalls John Waters' "Hairspray."
