  1. Mr. Carter's intelligent, straight-forward style and the good performances of the young actors prohibit hooting at the story's completely American approach to a German story. [11 Mar 1993]

For its historical detail and recognition that teenagers were around long before James Dean sparked up a Marlboro, this film deserves some credit.
  3. Yet for all its faults and limitations, Swing Kids is not necessarily easy to forget. [05 Mar 1993]
  4. It's Footloose Loose In The Third Reich and, even with your expectations kept knee-high to a kindergarten, you might have at least hoped for some finger-poppin' music and a few great dance scenes. Sorry. Here, too, things come up short. [05 Mar 1993]
