Just plain bad! Horribly bad in fact. Painfully bad! Not one single funny moment.

?Taxi? is the latest line of painfully unfunny and horribly formulaic buddy-cop picture. It takes the tried and true formula of pairing two mismatched people in a prosaic attempt to get laughs or a feeling of fun. The two buddies in this are young white boy Jimmy Fallon and former Hip-Hop star and Oscar-nominee Queen Latifah. The two are in my opinion actually good in movies that don?t suck, but in something as mechanical as ?Taxi?, they lack the chemistry necessary to carry the picture. Jimmy Fallon plays Washburn, who is perhaps the worst driver in the New York police department?s history. When a stakeout goes awry, he crashes a car into a local market and gets his license suspended by his ex-girlfriend lieutenant. In since every buddy-cop movie ever made is the same, you will know from her first scene that Washburn will get completely suspended and kicked off the case but will find some way to figure it out. Queen Latifah plays Belle who drives a ?souped-up? taxicab with hydraulics and other car gadgets that can get her from Time Square to JFK within ten minutes, which is faster than most jet planes. When Washburn hears on his walkie-talkie that there is a bank robbery he grabs the nearest taxi to pursue the nefarious Brazilian super-model thieves. The film?s failure to me comes from its combination of recycled lameness and cringe-worthy sight gags. There isn?t an ounce of originality in the jokes or the action sequences. Nothing is ever on the line and there is never a reason to really care about what happens. ?Taxi? was directed by ?Barbershop? director Tim Story, who has know been entrusted by 20th Century Fox to direct the ?Fantastic Four? movie. It is my belief that one of the characters in that movie will come out with at least four whiggerisms. Expand

How can any movie be this unfunny. Just awful. Even the out takes at the end of the flick while the credits were rolling failed to invoke even a mild guffaw. This was an amateur production in every sense of the word. Avoid at all costs.

Geez, I thought it was funny enough, not Oscar quality, sure, but it did it's job: cheap...cheap laughs.

Yet another reason why films shouldn't be remade just to please the American public. The original French movie was way better even if it was also kind of dumb. And it had more crashed cars. It they do a sequel to this crap I swear I'm gonna play russian roulette with 6 bullets in the barrel.

This is a classic example of a "T.I.N.A.B.A.P.S." movie. You know, one where you watch the first few minutes, say to yourself, "This is not as bad as people say!" (hence the acronym)...and then watch the rest of it and learn why it IS as bad as people say! Well, the first ten minutes of Taxi fit the bill perfectly: there's a terrific action sequence during the opening credits, some funny Wacky Races-type sight gags as ambitious speed demon cabbie Queen Latifah tricks out her customized vehicle, and the very appealing presence of Latifah herself (more on THAT later)...and it's blanketed with wonderful wall-to-wall old school R&B on the soundtrack. So you say, "T.I.N.A.B.A.P.S."...and then Jimmy Fallon shows up. As a Gilligan-like cop who involves unwilling civilian Latifah in his pursuit of a criminal operation, he's absolutely unbearable: he twitches, mugs, slobbers, drools and hogs the camera enough to fill three Jerry Lewis pictures, and only Brittany Murphy's "I'm-so-cute-you-could-just-puke" performance in Little Black Book edges him out for worst acting in a 2004 movie! Taxi might, in fact, serve a practical and instructive purpose as a simultaneous how-to and how-not-to lesson in film acting and screen presence; watch all of Latifah's and Fallon's scenes together and you'll see how tremendously warm, natural, at ease with the camera, likable and charismatic she is, while he can't scrape together a single believable or nonannoying moment. (This holds true for both of them even during the scene in which they're high on nitrous oxide.) While it's definitely true that Latifah should shop for a better agent, she unfailingly makes pretty good movies (like the current Beauty Shop) into better ones while making terrible flicks (Sphere, Bringing Down the House) at least barely watchable while she's on screen. I'm not normally in favor of superimposing computer-generated images of long-departed stars like Humphrey Bogart and Marilyn Monroe onto TV commercials, but maybe there IS something to be said for improving all-time turkeys such as Myra Breckinridge and Plan 9 From Outer Space by artificially inserting Latifah into them. They'd STILL be terrible movies, mind you, but at least they'd have Queen Latifah! Expand

Oh my God as this was simply awful. Were they trying to make it unfunny? It should have crashed on ignition sparring us all the agony of sitting through this crap.

I was dragged to this movie by a friend of mine, if i knew now what i knew then, I would be $8.50 richer. Ive always thought fallon had no comedic talent and wondered why SNL kept him as long as they did. The movie is a big Bloater bomb.

This is a "fun" movie you knobs. Its not trying to win anything. Its entertainment at its finest. I laughed and had a good time. If the critics weren't so square they would have to.

Bad. Very, very, very bad. Jimmy Fallon really disappoints, and Queen Latifah is god awful in her role. Gissele Bauchen is about as believable as a bank robber as O.J. Simpson is a person who didn't murder his wife. Which is pretty believable! -- JUST KIDDING - had you going for a second there, huh? The film is just a mindless blockbuster, that will definetly flop in the box office. It's not even enjoyable to watch. Yuck! Money is better used burned, then spent seeing this crap in the theater. Don't even wait for HBO, wait for network television. Expand

Quite possibly one of the worst comedies I have ever seen. There was nothing funny about the movie at all. It might play down to a ten year old but that is about it. Even the out takes as the credits roll is not funny. It was soooo bad that I had to watch it to the bitter end. And bitter it was.

This movie is as far from the greatness of the original as "This movie is super good!!!" is from a real review.

Although the remake wasn't that good, but Taxi got some smooth laughs and very entertaining. Give props to both Queen Latifah and Jimmy Fallon. Sometimes the critics almost got it wrong, but I digress.

Throughout this Americanization of the Luc Besson–scripted French hit, Latifah itches to check her watch, Fallon appears mortified, and only Ann-Margret mainlines any comic adrenalin.

A bland, half-finished film that seems to have been conceived as off-peak cable fodder.
