  • Summary: The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day is the much-anticipated sequel to the indie cult classic, The Boondock Saints. The film is the continuation of the MacManus brothers' saga . The two have been in deep hiding with their father, Il Duce, in the quiet valleys of Ireland, far removed from their former vigilante lives. When word comes that a beloved priest has been killed by sinister forces from deep within the mob, the brothers return to Boston to mount a violent and bloody crusade to bring justice to those responsible. With a new partner in crime and a sexy FBI operative hot on their trail…the Saints are back! (Sony Pictures)

The result isn’t art but it is an improvement: a scurrilous, lowdown, sub-Tarantino action comedy that, unlike the original, doesn’t make you want to claw your eyes out. How’s that for praise?
  2. The only truly ugly side to this self-consciously grimy movie is the streak of Neanderthal humor. Operatic overacting is funny. Racist and homophobic jokes? Not so much.
  3. The Boondock Saints II does, from time to time, display a vulgar charm. Or maybe it just wears you out.

Feels larger in scope yet sorely lacking in originality.

An idiotic ode to macho horseshite (to employ an ancient Irish word). It is however distinguished by superb cinematography.

Earns points only for being remarkably unself-conscious about its across-the-board ineptitude.

Isn't for everyone, obviously; it might not be for anyone, come to think of it.

Awesome movie. If you loved the first one you will love this. Action and a spiritutual overtone are great. Love the brothers.

Boondock Saints 2 lived up to the long awaited hype of a sequel. The humor found in this movie was not only entertaining but reminded people why they loved the first one to begin with. However I dont understand how critics even have jobs. They clearley lack any concept about what the consumer would like. This movie is a must see if you loved the first one. Expand

As a fan of the first film. Boondock Saints 2 is a will-love for all Boondock fans. Overall, the film starts off slow, but come to a climax and says there. What makes it better is the surprise at the end. Expand

A good watch for the fans, but some of the magic is missing. The whole cast was pulled back in, the style was there but it's lacking that special something that made the first go from a B movie to a cult classic. Still worth going to see in theaters but I'd recommend a matinee. Expand

Most people that liked BS will probably like this too, but it's pretty much just more BS. It isn't as bad as the first, but that might be because I expected nothing more than another ripoff of Guy Ritchie and Tarantino that required a very short attention span which is exactly what I got. Crap is worse when it catches you by surprise, and this time it didn't. Expand

Matt C. offers up a little gem of advice here. "Critics suck on sequels, listen to fans". Thats about as intelligent and profound a statement as you can expect from a Boondock Saints fan. Expand

Complete plastic Irish drivel from start to finish. Sub-normal fans of the original will probably like it but anyone with an IQ in at least double figures will hate it for what it is. Hey Troy, I'll have a beer and diet coke, keep the change you fool, cheers. Expand
