• Starring: Jenna Fischer, Will Arnett, Will Forte
  • Summary: The Brothers Solomon tells the hilarious story of Dean and John Solomon, two good-hearted but romantically-challenged brothers. When they find out their dying father’s last wish is for a grandchild, the brothers set out to find someone to have a baby with. A better film would have matched Arnett's seemingly effortless intensity throughout. This okay film does merely okay by it.
  2. The sheer, animal idiocy beaming from their faces in the opening credits of The Brothers Solomon creates the film's only moment of uncalculated comic joy.
  3. The upbeat brothers are full of sweetness and love, but the script is made of taffy, and if you can chew and laugh at the same time, you're welcome to it.

I've never commented here before, and given the wretched reviews professional and amateur so far given I felt I should weigh in. This movie is definitely worth seeing if you're into awkward comedy. This is perhaps the most awkward comedy I've seen in a theatre. Everyone has latched onto the SNL connection so far with Will Forte, but the important one is definitely his one episode stint on HBO's Flight of the Conchords. That's the style he's going for. And Will Arnett pulls it all of beautifully alongside him. Again, if you like Extras, Flight of the Conchords, the Office (and don't come back just to follow the status of Jim and Pam's relationship); if you liked Stranger than Fiction... Given a nine, by the way, because I don't really believe in giving tens. Expand

An utterly average film with a few hilarious scenes. Will Arnett is good, but even his Arrested Development references cannot save this mediocrity.
